Istvan Voros

Born in 1964 in Budapest, Hungary, is a poet and translator. He graduated from the University of Budapest with a degree in Hungarian and Czech. He currently works as an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Czech Philology at the Catholic University in Budapest. From 1994 to 1997 he worked as the editor of translated works for the publishing house JAK. He writes poems, short stories, and essays. His major collections are: Salt, Bread, 1988, What the Sleeping One Does Not See, 1994, Old Man Prodigy, a collection of short stories and a collection of essays with co-author Istvan Kemeny. He translates from Czech. Poetry award "Crystal Vilenica 2000" - Slovenia.
