The Wind and I

Borivoj Bukva

On the table

On the table
a candle burns down –
the dog by the stove.

A drop of rain

A drop of rain
falls on my palm –
a full moon

By day and at night

By day and at night
above my plain –
the wind and I.

A white petal

A white petal
of a blooming cherry –
a bee on the table.

Treasure of the sea

Treasure of the sea
in the fishnet –
fishes and garbage.

Following a trace

Following a trace
along the sand beach –
your drifting.

I caressed

I caressed
the bronze statue of a woman,
staring at the moon.

A horse theft

A horse theft
caresses a cockroach
in the prison  cell.

A decorated pine

A decorated pine
on the ship deck.
New Year's Eve.

Silence of the night

Silence of the night
in the heart of the old city.
My footsteps.
