Muse Must Dance
“Muse Must Dance” is an artwork by the artist Angel Miov, earlier this year displayed through the project “Global Village 2014” at Fort (bij) Abcoude, Amsterdam – Netherlands, Munich – Germany, and Copenhagen – Denmark. “Global Village” is an international project which annually features a selection of over 50 artists from different places of the world, an international platform that makes traveling exhibitions in several cities and countries around the world. The project was founded in 2009 by artist and curator Jeroen van Paassen and is planned to last until 2018.
“MUSE MUST DANCE” is a video installation, specifically object (suitcase), in which display is installed, that shows video from the studio of the artist…
– There was one ballerina, who attempts to realize how did she get there. She begins her dance simultaneously exploring the artist’s equipment trying to find its purpose. She was not aware that she had the role of a Muse, and she interrupted a very important meeting: Van Gogh, Degas, Rembrandt, Lautrec, Duchamp and Tchaikovsky were there. She stole the artist’s beret and put it on her head, then she stole the umbrella and she covered her body with it to prevent getting wet from doubts. Then unexpectedly she went away. Everybody was gone, only a message was left on the wall. It said: Once Van Gogh, Degas, Rembrandt, Lautrec, Duchamp and Tchaikovsky gathered together. Van Gogh brought a chair, Tchaikovsky made a tea, and Duchamp kept silent. They gathered to discus some very important issues about art. Nobody said anything, maybe the time wasn't right, and maybe they were all staring at the muse of the absurd, the absurd to meet each other.
So they went away in silence, without saying anything.
Too bad you have missed them, they were very funny…
