Rockdove

Jack Galmitz

Cherry blossoms

Cherry blossoms:
When I visit the city
I carry a gun

Rocking on the porch

Rocking on the porch-
The sky is covered darkly
With clouds of war

Green mountains

Green mountains-
I laid down and had a dream
I was a cosmos

Down a wooded lane

Down a wooded lane
A woman walks alone-
I see a fire

Returned from the stars

Returned from the stars:
The kitten curled in my lap
Licks its fur

Carrying a whale

Carrying a whale
Back to the ocean
My father

The nucleus

The nucleus
Of the night:
Her eyes

Her breasts

Her breasts
Grow in my hands…
A cornflower field
